14K Gold, Ruby, Authentic Ancient Bronze Coin c. 66-70 BCE
Size: 36 mm x 25 mm / 1.4” x 0.98”
Designed and crafted in the Holy Land by immeasurable talents of one of Jerusalem’s greatest artists, this exceptional pendant is far more than just a simple accessory – it’s a work of art. Exquisitely made with remarkable finesse from luxurious 14k gold, this incredible pendant spares nothing to provide a gorgeous setting for the ancient coin held within its unique ruby embellished frame, and the coin’s rich history is what makes this stunning pendant truly special. Hand-selected by the artist, the authentic Judean bronze Prutah encased in this medallion was minted during the First Jewish Revolt against Rome in 66-70 BCE and bears the inscription “the Freedom of Zion” written in ancient Hebrew. Frequently called “Masada Coins” after a number of them were discovered in an archeological exploration of Masada, Herod’s royal citadel and later the site where the Jewish rebels eventually made their last stand; these coins are an invaluable remnant of history whose inclusion in this superb pendant will make it a constant source of pride to its wearer!
Ben Jewelers was opened in the early 1990s by Ben Sadya, one of Israel’s top jewelers, who first learned his craft in metalworking from his family who would design and craft fine jewelry for the Royal Court of Yemen. Ben learned the secrets of Yemenite filigree in his father’s workshop, where he spent much of his childhood perfecting his skills. Ben Sadya lovingly designs and hand constructs each piece, taking inspiration from his heritage and adding a modern twist, which has earned this incredible artisan international acclaim and recognition. Respected worldwide for his extraordinary talent and fabulous designs, this magnificent artist works with a multitude of materials and styles, famously incorporating precious and semi-precious gemstones, 14 and 18 karat gold and sterling silver, as well as beautiful, glittering Roman Glass to produce luxurious pieces of indescribable beauty. Every flawless creation from this impressive artist is a radiant masterpiece unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
