About the Author(s):

Michael Avi-Yonah (1904–74) was a professor of Archaeology and History of Art at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He authored many books and papers, and planned and constructed a model of Second Temple Jerusalem in 1:50 scale, which is now on display at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem.

R. Steven Notley is a distinguished professor of New Testament and Christian Origins at the New York City College and the director of its graduate programs in Ancient Judaism and Christian Origins. Authoring many books and articles, he leads modern New Testament research and applies his philological training with his extensive knowledge of biblical geography to study and explore the secret of the Holy Bible.
